10 Tips for a Happy Life

There are some simple and easy things that can make your life and the lives of those around you more pleasant and enjoyable. Here’s my top 10 list for a Happy Life.

1. Think Before you Speak
Don’t spout out the first thing that comes to mind. Don’t talk just to talk, have meaning to what you say. Only say the necessary details. Summarize stories.  Analyze the response before you make a statement, you don’t want to regret it later.

2. Say Thank You
You can never say it too much but you’ll be noticed if you don’t say it enough.

3. Listen
Listen with the intent to understand, not respond. If you master this you’ll know more about… everything.

4.  Respect
Your elders, teachers, bosses, parents, subordinates, students, peers, kids, family… everyone you interact with. You never know who they are, who they may become or what they can teach you.

5. Have a Plan
Have short term and long term goals. Plan for retirement. Have money in the bank for the things you want and need as well as for emergencies. Have long term savings, investments and assets.

6. Love
Don’t be afraid of it. It will be what hurts you the most and makes you the happiest.

7. Have Sex
This is something that can make or break a relationship. Do it, do it often and enjoy it. If you don’t have anyone to do it with do it yourself.

8. Do Things for Yourself
Do whatever makes you happy. When you’re happy others are likely to feed off of this and be happy themselves. If traveling, doing yoga or spending time in a spa make you happy, don’t feel guilty, do it.

9. Love Your Body
It’s beautiful and unique. It’s one of a kind. Don’t hate it or be afraid of it. Love it and use it. Take care of it and treat it well.

10. Be Happy
Don’t waste time with anger and frustration. Recognize your emotions, accept them, then move on.  Be happy and enjoy life.
